How much does it cost?

My fees are pro rata as follows:

  • St Albans – £70 per hour
  • London – £80 per hour

Discounts are available for students, key workers, people on low wages and Equity or MU members – please email outlining your circumstances.

First adult sessions are 2 hours. Thereafter  90 min – 2 hours as required.
First Child/Teen sessions are 90 min. Thereafter 60 min – 90 min as required.

  • An initial phone consultation (up to 20 minutes) is free of charge.
  • Letters/assessments and meetings (phone, in-person or Skype, including any travel required) are also chargeable at the same rate pro rata.
  • Corporate/insurance* fees on request.

 

Where are you based?

St Albans – my consulting room is in a quiet area off Prospect Road. Approx 15 minutes walk from City Station (London/Brighton/Luton line) or 2 minutes walk from Abbey Station (Watford line). Free parking is available.

I also hold an occasional clinic in North London, however my practice there is full for the forseeable future.

 

How many sessions will I need?

Most people come for between 1 and 10 sessions. There is no minimum or set number, because everyone and every situation is different.

For habitual problems like smoking, nail-biting, fear of flying, fear of lifts etc, we usually need just 1 or 2 sessions.

When problems are deeper e.g. anxiety, depression, stress or eating disorders, the number of sessions would typically be between 6-10.  The therapy aims to help you resolve the cause of a recurring problem, not just superficial symptoms.

 

What happens if I can’t attend an appointment?

If you give 24 hours notice to change or cancel an appointment, there is no charge. Any cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged at the normal session fee, as the therapist’s time and facilities have been reserved for you.

 

What if I am late?

In fairness to the client after you, your session will still end at the previously agreed time.

 

What payment methods are available?

Payment is usually made in cash or by cheque at the end of the session.  Invoicing and payment by BACs are available if required.

 

What session times are available?

I offer appointments on weekdays mornings and evenings, also some weekends.

Will I be conscious?

Yes – hypnosis is not sleep or unconsciousness, its a natural state that feels a bit like the drowsy feeling just as you’re waking up.
